Challenges
- Consistency and Coherence
Maintaining consistency across different form interfaces presented a significant challenge due to the diverse range of applications and design requirements. Ensuring a cohesive visual language and user experience was crucial to promote familiarity and usability. - Scalability
With a large organization like Wells Fargo, scalability was a major consideration. The design system needed to accommodate a wide range of form types, from simple one-page forms to complex multi-step workflows, while remaining flexible and adaptable to future needs. - Accessibility and Compliance
Wells Fargo’s commitment to accessibility and compliance necessitated careful consideration of accessibility guidelines and regulatory requirements throughout the design system. Ensuring that the forms were usable and accessible to all users, including those with disabilities, was of utmost importance.

Goals
- Streamline Development
The uniForm design system aimed to expedite the development process by providing a comprehensive set of reusable components, patterns, and guidelines. This allowed designers and developers to efficiently create consistent and high-quality form interfaces, reducing time spent on repetitive tasks and enabling faster delivery of new applications. - Enhance User Experience
By establishing consistent interaction patterns, visual styles, and usability principles, the design system aimed to enhance the user experience across all form-based applications. This included improving form completion rates, reducing errors, and ensuring a seamless flow for users interacting with various forms within the Wells Fargo ecosystem. - Maintain Brand Identity
Wells Fargo’s brand identity was a vital consideration within the uniForm design system.
