My Design Process

Below is the general process I follow for most projects I’m involved in, using the industry-standard design thinking approach. Depending on the project, certain steps may be shortened or skipped.

This step involves understanding the user’s perspective by observing and engaging with them to gain insights into their needs, wants, and problems.

The next step I follow is to define the problem or challenge that needs to be addressed. This involves synthesizing the information gathered during the empathize phase and clearly defining the problem in a way that is actionable.

The ideation phase is about generating a wide range of possible solutions to the problem. This involves brainstorming and exploring various ideas without any judgment or evaluation.

In this phase, I create a rough draft or a prototype of the solution that was selected in the ideation phase. The goal is to create a tangible representation of the solution that can be tested and refined based on feedback.

The final step involves testing prototypes with actual users to gather feedback and validate the solution. This step validate the solution the UX team comes up with meets the needs of the user and addresses the problem identified in the define phase. I use a combination of remote moderated and unmoderated methods using tools such as Maze.
